Driveways and entryways benefit from repeated architectural light points, but placement should start with the route and the posts that already exist, not a fixed spacing formula.

Paired driveway posts

A two-pack naturally supports symmetrical gate or driveway columns. Keep mounting height visually consistent and check that both solar panels receive similar daylight. If one side sits under a tree or eave, charging may differ.

Front-entry columns

Use pillar lights as an accent layer around the approach, then keep any required step, address, door or security lighting as separate functions. Decorative solar lights should not be treated as the sole safety or security system.

Garden gates

Gateposts can benefit from warm light when the goal is a softer arrival sequence. The current Viva 2-pack lists approximately 3000K warm and 6000K cool modes, allowing the pair to coordinate with different exterior palettes.

Placement checklist

• Measure the post top before ordering.
• Check sun exposure on both sides.
• Avoid locations where sprinklers or standing water create exposure beyond the verified rating.
• Test the remote and modes before permanent mounting.
• Keep panels clear of leaves and debris.

Choose color temperature intentionally

Warm light often integrates well with brick, wood and warmer facade materials; cooler light can read crisper against gray stone, concrete or contemporary black-and-white exteriors. The best choice is the one that coordinates with the rest of the property.
