Dimming is useful when you want to change the visual intensity of a solar fixture, but it should not be marketed as a guaranteed way to achieve a specific runtime. Actual performance still depends on the battery, charge conditions and control design.
What dimming changes
A dimmable light can let you soften an entry scene, reduce glare or coordinate with nearby fixtures. A non-dimmable model is simpler when one fixed output is all you need.
What dimming does not prove
- It does not prove a particular number of nighttime hours.
- It does not prove a specific lumen range.
- It does not prove battery capacity or chemistry.
- It does not prove the fixture remembers the last setting.
