A home office that doubles as a guest room works best when the office remains functional most days and guest furniture can appear without dismantling the workspace. The design goal is reversible use.

Keep the desk zone permanent

Place the desk where it has reliable power, task lighting and comfortable circulation. Avoid positioning convertible furniture so opening it blocks the desk chair, drawers or primary doorway.

Create a separate guest zone
