How to Set Up a Makeup Station at Home
Share
A useful makeup station needs a location that fits the furniture, a comfortable mirror position, enough task lighting, organized storage and safe access to power. Build the setup around the room and routine instead of a fixed list of products or styling rules.
1. Choose the location
Measure the available wall width, floor depth and seated zone. Check nearby doors, drawers, windows and the path to an outlet. Natural light can be useful, but avoid positioning the mirror where direct glare makes the reflection uncomfortable.
2. Measure the full furniture zone
Include the vanity depth, chair or stool, space to sit and stand, and room for every drawer or cabinet to open. Do not use a universal 24–30-inch clearance if your room or chair needs more or less; test the actual movement.
3. Set the mirror for your seated position
Sit in the chair you plan to use and confirm your face is comfortably within the main reflection area. Stool height and mirror placement should be solved together. Stool inclusion is not confirmed for Viva's current vanity, so plan seating separately.
4. Test the lighting controls
Use the available light modes and dimming to adapt to the room. A color name such as Cool White, Warm White or Yellow is not the same as verified CRI or professional color calibration.
5. Organize storage by frequency
Keep daily products in the easiest drawer, less-frequent items in secondary storage and taller items in a cabinet when they fit. Allow heat-producing tools to cool according to their instructions before storing them.
6. Plan electrical use carefully
Keep outlets and charging ports away from liquids. Route the vanity cord where drawers, chair legs and walking traffic cannot damage it. Check the exact electrical rating before connecting hair tools or higher-power appliances.
7. Keep the surface usable
Use one small tray or organizer for the current routine and return other items to storage. A clear surface gives you room to use the mirror and makes cleaning easier.
Current Viva setup example
The Viva Makeup Vanity with LED Mirror & Charging Station currently lists 35.43 W × 15.75 D × 54.72 H in. dimensions, a 74.08-lb product weight, a roughly 35.4-inch mirror, three light colors, long-press dimming, two AC outlets, USB, Type-C, two drawers, a large cabinet and a hair-dryer hook. The live variants are Light strips and Bulbs.
