Round Bathroom Mirrors: Size, Placement and Installation Guide

A round mirror can soften the straight lines of a bathroom vanity, but bathroom placement adds practical questions about width, height, lighting, wall construction, moisture exposure and nearby electrical fixtures.

Start with vanity width

Measure the sink or vanity and the clear wall area above it. Leave comfortable separation from side walls, cabinets and sconces. A universal mirror-to-vanity percentage is less useful than testing the actual wall with a paper template.

Set height from the users and fixtures

Check the mirror centerline at normal standing height and verify clearance above faucets or backsplashes. If the mirror sits between sconces, measure both the fixture bodies and their light spread.

Consider a 28-inch mirror

Check moisture suitability

Do not assume an aluminum frame automatically makes a mirror waterproof or corrosion-proof. Verify the exact product instructions for bathroom placement and avoid exposing the frame or backing to standing water.

Plan around electrical fixtures

If lights, outlets or powered mirrors are nearby, keep the installation consistent with the exact product instructions and applicable electrical requirements. Do not drill until hidden services have been considered.

Mount for the actual wall

Use hardware suited to the wall type and product weight. The Viva 28-inch mirror lists a pre-installed mirror-side hook; it does not specify one universal wall anchor for every bathroom.

Round vs. rectangular over a vanity

Round adds a curved focal point and may leave more open wall around the corners. Rectangular mirrors usually provide more reflection area within the same width. Choose based on the vanity, lighting and viewing need.
