Round wall mirror shown for size and room-fit planning

Round Wall Mirror Buying Checklist: Diameter, Height & Mounting

Choosing a round wall mirror is mostly a measurement problem. Once the size, wall, viewing position and installation method are right, the frame finish and styling become much easier decisions.

This is the step-by-step how-to page. For the broader category overview—room uses, frame direction, round-vs.-rectangular tradeoffs and current Viva example—start with Round Wall Mirrors: What to Know Before You Buy.

1. Measure the usable wall area

Measure width and height after subtracting switches, sconces, shelves, trim and door movement. Mark the proposed circle with painter's tape or paper before buying.

2. Compare diameter with the furniture below

Over a vanity, dresser or console, the mirror should feel related to the furniture without extending awkwardly beyond it. Use the actual furniture width rather than a universal percentage rule.

3. Set the viewing height

Choose the centerline based on the people and activity using the mirror. Bathroom, entryway and bedroom use may need different heights. Avoid generic “57–65 inch” rules when the room and user differ.

4. Choose the frame

Black is a versatile choice when you want contrast; warmer metals can connect to brass or gold hardware. Keep the number of competing finishes limited in a small room.

5. Check weight and mounting

The current Viva 28-inch round mirror is listed at 7.17 lb. The wall-side anchor or screw still needs to suit the wall type and current mounting instructions.

6. Treat safety and moisture labels carefully

Terms such as “blast-proof,” “waterproof,” “rust-proof,” and “zero distortion” should not be assumed from category marketing. Look for exact model documentation if those properties matter to the installation.

7. Test what the mirror will reflect

Stand where you normally use the room and check the reflection. A good location should not create uncomfortable glare or make clutter the visual focal point.

Viva example

The Viva Elite 28-Inch Black Round Wall Mirror is a medium-scale black round mirror with listed dimensions of approximately 27.99 × 27.99 × 0.75 in., a listed aluminum-alloy frame and a pre-installed mirror-side hook.

Final checklist
